Whole cattle hide sales of 485,000 pieces were primarily for South Korea (248,300 pieces), China (169,700 pieces), Taiwan (29,100 pieces), Mexico (20,300 pieces), and Italy (8,600 pieces). Exports of 423,000 pieces were up 3 percent from the previous week, but down 4 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 419,300 pieces were primarily to China (261,000 pieces), South Korea (81,600 pieces), Taiwan (28,900 pieces), Mexico (15,700 pieces), and Thailand (14,200 pieces).
Net sales of 26,800 wet blues for 2015 were down 86 percent from the previous week and 85 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (42,500 unsplit and 23,900 grain splits), Vietnam (30,500 unsplit), and Italy (21,500 unsplit). Decreases were reported for Taiwan (94,700 unsplit and 6,600 grain splits), the Dominican Republic (9,600 unsplit), India (5,600 unsplit), and Italy (400 grain splits). Net sales of 124,500 wet blues for 2016 were reported for Taiwan (94,700 unsplit and 6,400 grain splits), the Dominican Republic (9,600 unsplit), China (8,200 unsplit), and India (5,600 unsplit). Exports of 190,600 wet blues–a marketing-year high–were primarily to China (65,700 unsplit and 14,500 grain splits), Italy (43,300 unsplit and 5,000 grain splits), Mexico (15,200 grain splits and 2,100 unsplit), and Vietnam (16,400 unsplit). Net sales of splits totaling 134,600 pounds for 2015 were reported for South Korea (90,300 pounds), Mexico (78,000 pounds), and China (16,100 pounds) were partially offset by decreases for Hong Kong (33,800 pounds), Italy (15,700 pounds), and Taiwan (300 pounds). Exports of 1,134,100 pounds were reported to South Korea (525,300 pounds), Hong Kong (408,800 pounds), and Italy (200,000 pounds).
