Whole cattle hide sales of 488,800 pieces were primarily for China (280,000 pieces), South Korea (90,100 pieces), Taiwan (40,700 pieces), and Mexico (35,100 pieces). Exports of 354,900 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were down 1 percent from the previous week and 2 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (209,100 pieces), South Korea (86,800 pieces), Mexico (29,000 pieces), Taiwan (7,700 pieces), and Thailand (6,800 pieces).
Net sales of 111,000 wet blues for 2015 were up 4 percent from the previous week, but down 26 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Thailand (37,000 grain splits and 4,900 unsplit), Italy (33,200 unsplit), Mexico (27,800 grain splits and 2,200 unsplit), China (18,900 unsplit and 3,700 grain splits), and the Dominican Republic (9,600 unsplit). Decreases were reported for South Korea (41,300 unsplit and 100 grain splits) and India (5,300 unsplit). Net sales of 75,400 wet blues for 2016 were reported for South Korea (41,300 unsplit), China (23,800 grain splits), India (6,000 unsplit), Mexico (2,200 grain splits), and Hong Kong (2,100 grain splits). Exports of 98,200 wet blues were up 18 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were Vietnam (26,800 unsplit), Thailand (9,500 unsplit and 3,800 grain splits), China (7,600 grain splits and 7,400 unsplit), and Mexico (8,900 grain splits and 5,100 unsplit). Net sales reductions of splits totaling 334,800 pounds for 2015 were down noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. The destination was Taiwan (125,400 pounds). Decreases were reported for South Korea (426,700 pounds) and China (33,500 pounds). For 2016, net sales reductions of 8,300 pounds were for Italy. Exports of 555,400 pounds were down 30 percent from the previous week and 23 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were South Korea (477,300 pounds), Taiwan (40,400 pounds), and China (37,700 pounds).
