Hides and Skins: Net sales of 389,600 pieces, all whole cattle hides, were reported for delivery in 2015, down 24 percent from the previous week and 6 percent from the prior 4-week average. The primary destinations were China (264,800 pieces), South Korea (80,400 pieces), Mexico (26,700 pieces), Taiwan (10,100 pieces, including 1,300 pieces switched from China and decreases of 700 pieces), and Thailand (3,700 pieces). Exports of 292,800 pieces were down 31 percent from the previous week and 33 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hide exports of 290,000 pieces were primarily to China (169,500 pieces), South Korea (72,600 pieces), Mexico (24,800 pieces), and Taiwan (12,300 pieces).
Net sales of 89,400 wet blues for 2015 were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 36 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for Italy (47,400 unsplit), China (15,200 grain splits and 13,700 unsplit), Thailand (6,400 unsplit), and South Korea (5,100 grain splits and 1,100 unsplit). Decreases were reported for India (2,000 unsplit), Taiwan (1,000 unsplit), and Italy (300 grain splits). Net sales of 22,000 wet blues for 2016 were reported for China (20,800 unsplit), India (2,000 unsplit), and Taiwan (800 unsplit). Decreases were reported for the Dominican Republic (1,600 unsplit). Exports of 155,100 wet blues were primarily to Italy (46,700 unsplit and 8,300 grain splits), China (40,600 unsplit and 5,600 grain splits), Mexico (11,500 grain splits and 4,300 unsplit), and South Korea (9,400 grain splits and 5,000 unsplit). Net sales of splits totaling 886,100 pounds for 2015 were reported for South Korea (845,800 pounds) and Taiwan (58,800 pounds). Decreases were reported for Mexico (8,500 pounds), Italy (8,500 pounds), and China (1,400 pounds). Exports of 1,184,400 pounds were reported to South Korea (1,115,000 pounds) and Mexico (69,400 pounds).
